Originally from Indonesia, Fasya Setiawan came to Ōtepoti Dunedin to pursue her passion for sustainability and entrepreneurship. With a background in architecture and a love of weddings, Fasya’s entrepreneurial research aimed to make floristry more environmentally sustainable with her startup Kreafoam.
Fasya chose to study at the Otago Business School because of its strong connections with the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. During her Masters of Entrepreneurship, she joined Startup Dunedin’s Audacious programme to develop and test her business idea, and won a $1,000 Audacious Impact Award.
Fasya also worked with the University’s International Office as a Student Ambassador, sharing her story and helping others discover what makes studying in Ōtepoti Dunedin special. Since taking on the role, she has connected with many students back in Indonesia, participated in a wide range of O-Week events, been part of Unibuddy, and continues to embody the spirit of innovation and connection that defines Ōtepoti Dunedin’s startup ecosystem.
