“As human beings, stress is an ever present feature in our lives. Stress is crucial in your working life. It helps you do your work safely and deal with challenges. Controlled stress can help you be innovative, efficient and productive. On the other hand, uncontrolled stress is disruptive to your life and your work. It produces deterioration in mental and physical health; diminishes your performance on the job and threatens your relationships at home. Because we cannot eliminate stress from our lives, we must learn to manage it. Resilient people are people who can keep functioning both physically and psychologically when experiencing stress.
Resilience is not a rare ability; in reality, it is found in the average individual and while people do differ in their inborn ability to handle life's stresses, resilience can also be cultivated and developed by virtually anyone.
This workshop looks at the causes and symptoms of stress and explores strategies and resources that will enable you to design your own plan to develop personal resilience.
