What is it about?
Takeaways is a semi-regular-ish event where you bring your own takeaways and listen to two founders talk about all the things they wished they had done differently. Inspired by F*ckup Nights, Takeaways gives a platform to share professional failure. The stories of the business that crashes and burns, the partnership deal that goes sour, the product that has to be recalled, we aim to tell them all.
Speakers
Anna Kirkwood and Kate Wilkinson
Anna & Kate have been besties since high school, and now inspire the world to embrace individuality. Kate left her job as a lawyer to jump straight into The Awareness Project, and Anna is working both as a Social Worker and a member of The Awareness Project team.
The Awareness Project are specialists in education on workplace diversity and inclusion, with an ultimate goal of creating a community where discrimination such as racism, sexism, homophobia, ageism and ableism no longer exist. Anna & Kate offer their services in person and are scaling through their online subscription and course options.
Over the course of their 2 year journey, the two have battled with finding the right mentorship and support, struggled with conflicting definitions of what success looks like, and are still trying to overcome shiny object syndrome.
